來自同時性的邀請-侯玉書個展 The Invitation from Simultaneity – 2022 George Ho Solo Exhibition

創作，對於侯玉書而言既是發覺內在的自我，也是他與外在的未知世界、大自然的能量連接的一項工具，或是頻道(channel)。2022年10月於非畫廊舉辦的個展《來自同時性的邀請》呈現侯玉書2021-22年的近作，揭示了藝術家對神秘學、心靈溝通、能量交流、時間與空間等主題的探索，也是他創作生涯三十年的一個重要標注。 侯玉書提到：在創作《來自同時性的邀請》系列作品時，他試著將過去、現在與未來融合為一個立體的時空來思考、提問、想像他的作品，應呈現何種面貌與觀者互動、感應。近代從愛因斯坦的相對論到量子力學的探討中，也相繼對「時間」的本質提出了全新的論點。對「宇宙」這個巨大的能量體，人類在現有的知識體系上，能夠得知、驗證的僅是微乎其微的皮毛，必須倘開人們的心和腦，以不帶批判、不含任何偏見的意識，去覺察、覺知、感應這宇宙、自然的訊息，這是侯玉書試圖透過作品為觀眾所展現的通道(access)，一個與未知的靈性能量相遇的可能！ For artist George Ho, artistic creation is about getting in touch with his inner self, as well using it as a tool (or perhaps a “channel”) for connection with the unknown world outside and the energy of nature. The October 2022 Invitation from Simultaneity solo exhibition at Beyond Gallery features George Ho’s recent works from 2021-22. It reveals the artist’s explorations of such topics and themes as mysticism, spiritual communication, energy exchange, and time and space, and represents an important marker in his 30-year career. He relates that during the creation of the Invitation From Simultaneity series he attempted to consider, question, and imagine his works from a 3D perspective of the past, present and future fused into one, picturing how that would look as well as audience interaction and responses. In the modern era, from Einstein’s theory of relativity to the investigation of quantum physics, new hypotheses have been espoused about the true nature of “time”. Within the grand body of energy that is “the universe,” the things that humans can know and prove given our current body of knowledge only scratch the surface. We need to open up our minds and our brains and intuit, observe, and sense the universe and nature’s messages without any judgment or prejudice. This is the access that George Ho attempts to demonstrate to viewers through works of art – the possibility of encounters with unknown spiritual energy.
